The two proceeded with their original wedding date despite initially tying the knot on May 5, 2026. Warden and Kaybrie had to marry a little early due to the deteriorating health of Kaybrie’s father, who passed away just a few days after walking his daughter down the aisle. Kaybrie revealed that it was a bittersweet ceremony, but she’s still grateful to share the moment with her dad. ‘Bringing Up Bates‘: The Bates Kids Share Their Wedding Preparations

Some members of the Bates family recently took to IG to share some of their preparations for Warden and Kaybrie’s wedding. One of them is Carlin, who uploaded a wholesome moment with Ellie and Josie, doing their makeup in front of a large mirror. The groom, Warden, was also there, and he was hilariously looking at his sisters while he checked on his suit.

Carlin also shared her makeup session with Layla, which included a funny moment with Zade. During the clip, Zade spoke in the background, talking about how scared he is of his sister’s lips. The Bringing Up Bates wasn’t expecting a lip review from her son. Zade even admitted that he dislikes putting on makeup. But the clip shows how the kids had so much fun with their mom.

Kaybrie Shares Emotional Tribute for Late Father

In an Instagram post, Kaybrie shared a rare moment on her wedding day with Warden. Her mother walks her down the aisle. Moments later, they laid flowers on the seat of her late father. She wrote, “miss you everyday, dad 🕊️🤎.” Kelly Jo was left in awe by the gesture to honor her dad. Many Bringing Up Bates fans agree and commend Kaybrie for showing how much she loves her parents.

Kaybrie’s father, Michael, has been fighting stage 4 colon cancer. It was revealed that he fought it for three years before his organs began to fail. He could barely move when he attended Kaybrie and Warden’s wedding. Michael passed away on May 8, 2026, just 3 days after celebrating his daughter’s wedding.
