Sister Wives Season 20: TLC Drama Explodes—Canceled or Coming Back with a Vengeance?
SOURCE: TLC
Sister Wives started in 2010 with a unique concept of trying to portray Kody and his family’s one-of-a-kind polygamous marriages. Over the years, things started falling apart, and we saw cracks in their dynamics. Kody tied the knot with Robyn in 2010, and after his fourth marriage, things started changing in the family. Gradually, the OG three wives started feeling neglected and ultimately left him for good in 2022 after the pandemic.
Ever since the family broke apart, there have been many murmurs in the fraternity that the show might get canceled. The show started with the main purpose of highlighting polygamy and how it is equally important as monogamy. But during the course of the show, the main objective, which was polygamy, fell apart. So, why is this show still continuing? There’s also a chance that there may be a spin-off focusing on the lives of the OG three wives and how they are dealing with the split. So, will there be a Sister Wives Season 20?
Sister Wives: Kody Finally Admits Favoring Robyn Over OG3 Wives!
For years, Sister Wives fans suspected that Kody Brown treated Robyn differently, and now, he’s finally owned up to it. The other wives had often hinted at Kody’s clear favoritism toward Robyn. It left them feeling overlooked and pushed aside.
Although Kody and Robyn spent years denying it, he eventually confessed during a past Tell-All that Robyn is his favorite. According to him, “she was the only one loyal.” The comment didn’t sit well with fans, who slammed him online for comparing his ex-wives’ loyalty to that of misbehaving pets
Sister Wives: Season 20 Updates And Rumors!
Sister Wives started over two decades ago and has remained strong for years. It is one of TLC’s most successful shows, and the latest season, Season 19, was the longest of all. This season featured 29 episodes and four Tell-Alls, which broke previous records. His ex-wives, along with his only remaining wife, even sat for one-on-one conversations with Suki Krishnan. This marked the second innings of the show, spanning from 2022 to 2024. Now, the wives live independently, and Kody navigates a monogamous relationship with Robyn.
This extensive timeline has created challenges for the cast and crew, especially since the other wives live in different parts of the country. The season had three installments and even touched on Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison, who passed away in March 2024. It also highlighted Christine’s marriage and her evolving relationship with her new husband, David.
A lot has happened on the show, but the main essence is missing. Sister Wives began with the objective of upholding polygamist values, but polygamy is no longer part of the narrative. With the central theme gone, there is a high chance the show might face cancellation. Fans also seem less eager to watch Kody and Robyn, and many are asking for a special spin-off featuring the wives.
