Over time, their attorney has tried to stall. Since the attorney started representing them, he has exploited various loopholes in the law.
At every court hearing, they present either a plea deal or a request for an extension. This has greatly frustrated the fandom, who are eager for justice to prevail. They cannot accept how loopholes in the law have allowed such a monstrous being to run free. Now, Joseph’s attorney has additionally asked for an extension during his recent court hearing.

However, the court eventually allowed supervised visits only for Kendra. At the time, the couple pleaded “not guilty” in court. However, now the couple has reversed their plea deal in court.
In response, the judge issued a diversion order. It includes a one-year ‘Advisement Period’ for their child endangerment case. According to the order, the couple must be on their best behavior, refrain from any criminal activity, and pay a $1,850 fine. If they do, the court might dismiss all charges.

It is indeed regressive in terms of justice. As days pass, Joseph Duggar’s case is seeing meager punishments. At a recent court hearing, his lawyer asked for an extension.
Apparently, a witness deposition in the case ran long the day before. That is because the deposition had only 15 minutes allotted. However, this one lasted an hour. According to sources, the lawyer “asked for the extension because he ran out of time to conduct depositions with three other witnesses and because the state may add additional witnesses.”
Three witnesses were present in person, while another appeared by phone. Kendra’s parents and Investigator Darrell “Chase” Norris were present in person. At the same time, Thomas Lowe joined by phone. The judge offered the extension, which subsequently dragged out the court dates. He had scheduled the next court hearing for November 10.
As long as the case drags out, Joseph Duggar gets to enjoy his free time out of prison, that too without any accountability and lack of justice. This situation has understandably concerned the people who were hopeful for justice. Word on the block, the people in the locality around the Duggars are avoiding the questionable family like the plague. Nobody wants to associate with this disdainful family anymore.
